On the 15th of September, Holly Lynch, the Member of Parliament for Halifax, attended the launch event for the Community Hub @ Bull Green. Organised by Newground Together, the launch showcased a hub that promises to provide crucial support and opportunities to the residents of Halifax. The hub opened its doors to the public on the 18th of September and aspires to empower the community through various services and initiatives.

In line with their vision of creating sustainable and resilient communities in the North of England, Newground Together has brought its successful high street hub initiative to Halifax, recognizing the need for face-to-face support and guidance, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. The Bull Green hub is set to provide essential services that support employment, digital skills, energy advice, and general wellbeing. It aims to offer a nurturing space for training, workshops, and community activities, ultimately enriching the lives of the local population.

The hub features a welcoming, staffed drop-in area for advice and computer access, specialized rooms for personalized advice sessions, and a community activity room for engaging workshops and larger sessions. Services encompass vital information, advice, and guidance sessions, covering employability, training, digital skills, and energy advice. Moreover, the hub promises supportive signposting to additional services beyond Newground Together’s immediate focus.

After attending, Holly remarked: “It was great to attend the opening of the new community hub in Bull Green. Newground and Together Housing have created a fantastic space for people to get the support and advice they need as well as training opportunities for people searching for work. I want to thank Newground Together for creating this valuable community resource and wish them every success.”

Moving forward, the hub at Bull Green will be open during the week from Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm, and on Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm.
