As the MP for Halifax, I receive thousands of emails, letters and phone calls from constituents each year. My team and I are able to assist people with various casework issues including problems with benefit claims, immigration issues, and complaints about public services or utility companies. I also aim to respond to everyone who contacts me to express a view on policy matters or asking me to support particular campaigns.

A few things to note before getting in touch:

  • When contacting me by post or email, please make sure to include your address so that my team and I know that you are a constituent. If you are unsure, you can check using this link.
  • Please do not be disappointed if you do not receive an immediate reply. I receive a very high number of emails, telephone calls and letters every day, so please allow time for a response.
  • Please be advised that my team and I cannot give legal advice and are unable to intervene in private disputes.
  • In person meetings with me or my team are by appointment only and not guarenteed in all circumstances. I reccomment getting in touch  using the below methods beforehand.
  • In order to deal with casework I will need to store personal details and correspondence, and it may be necessary for me to share details and information relating to your case with third party organisations. If you do not wish me to do so please let me know. Your data will be stored, shared and destroyed in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation. You can read my full Data Protection Notice here.
