Holly Lynch MP From Halifax, For Halifax
Last week, the Rail Delivery Group announced proposals to close ticket offices in Halifax and many other locations across the country. I believe this is the wrong decision for many reasons. Maintaining essential services, such as a staffed ticket office, is vital for the convenience, accessibility, and overall well-being of Halifax residents. Particularly concerning is the fact that many of these passengers, especially elderly and disabled rail users, may face challenges in using digital alternatives.
Before I finalise my representations to both the Department for Transport and Northern, I want to collect as much local and accurate information as I can to persuade them to think again. Therefore, I have launched this local call for evidence which you can contribute to using the form below. Please be aware that this is separate from the official consultation, which I strongly encourage everyone to participate in and details of which can be found at the bottom of this page. To contribute to my call for local evidence, kindly fill out the form below.

Thank you for filling out this form.
If you feel as strongly as I do that this is the wrong decision, please ensure that you also participate in the official consultation.
