This week Holly hosted a film screening of the hit film ‘Made in Dagenham’ at the Square Chapel in Halifax to raise money for WomenCentre Halifax.

The film is based on the Ford women car workers’ strike of 1968, in which female staff went on strike for the right to be paid the same wage as the men. The strike commanded headlines, galvanised the political debate, and indirectly led to the Equal Pay Act of 1970.

All profits made from the sale of tickets goes directly to the Calderdale WomenCentre who are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. WomenCentre Calderdale and Kirklees has helped over 100,000 women across our area and Holly wanted to show her support for this brilliant charity.
