Rail Fares Campaign Day

The Tories are hitting passengers with eye watering fare increases. Since 2010, fares have risen by 25 per cent on average, three times faster than wages.

Many people will return to work after Christmas on Monday 4 January and it’s an opportunity to talk to commuters about this important issue.

The Labour Party are running a national day of action on rail fares to highlight the steep rise in fares since 2010.

Here in Halifax we will be discussing the fare hike with commuters at Halifax train station and handing out leaflets. There has been a 24% rise in the cost of a season ticket from Halifax to Manchester since 2010. It would be great if you could join us.
